The event started at 10 o’clock and lasted until the early evening. The rich culinary offer of dishes made from strawberries and asparagus, prepared from fresh and flavored ingredients, had a central place. Visitors could try homemade desserts from strawberries, asparagus and strawberry štruklje, brška (asparagus) soup, pasta asparagus and chicken, asparagus ford, pancakes and grilled meat.
In addition to tasting good food, visitors could see the exhibition Our Birds and the collection of Sava pebbles – the first such collection in Slovenia. The exhibition was free for all visitors and guided by a local tourist guide. Its art exhibition was prepared by the Lila Society, which exhibited glimpses from nature and the countryside from the 20th hike along the Jablaniška path, which took place in April this year.
In addition to the Lila association, Pavla Rozina from the farm PR also introduced himself to the visitors.Janez, Association of Rural Women and Girls Polšnik, Mrs. Elvira with her laces, stained glass and handicraft studio Darka Levičar, Beekeeping Dremelj, Kmetija Kotar with homemade cheeses and dairy products, and craftsmen Mrs. Majda Hočevar and Mrs. Brigita Rozina. We would like to thank all the participants for co-creating wonderful memories of the 15th day of strawberries and asparagus.
The varied program was also intended for the youngest. The children were able to take part in creative workshops on river stones and learn about the nature of the Sava River through play and creation. Visitors could also see the neighboring Paternoster homestead, where tours of domestic animals and glamping houses were available, as well as a tasting of local delicacies.
As befits a Sunday event in the countryside, there was also good local music and a lucky draw with interesting prizes. We are happy that this time we were also accompanied by good weather, which created a pleasant atmosphere for socializing and relaxing in nature.
