Camino Primitivo travel lecture, 20/02/2025

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, members of the LAZ association and other visitors listened to fellow countryman Anita Molka, who presented her journey along the 400-kilometer long pilgrimage route Camino Primitivo and Camino Finisterre.

The Camino Primitivo is the oldest pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, which starts in Oviedo and measures about 321 km. Due to its rugged terrain, it is considered one of the most challenging routes, but it offers wonderful views and an authentic pilgrimage experience. The Camino Finisterre is the only Jacob path that starts in Santiago and leads 90 km west to Cape Finisterre, once known as the ‘end of the world’. Many pilgrims walk this route as a symbolic continuation of the pilgrimage, where they end their spiritual experience by the Atlantic Ocean.

Anita gave us a detailed presentation of her experience of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and the continuation of the journey to Cape Finisterre. At the beginning, she shared with us basic information about the route itself – where it takes place, how and why it was created and what it represents. After the introductory part, we set out on her journey through pictures and storytelling and together discovered hidden corners, stunning views and interesting stories. She shared her impressions of what she experienced on the way, where she slept and what she ate. With her rich pictures and picturesque narrative, she took us to the other side of Europe and brought us closer to this unique experience.

All the visitors were impressed with Anita and her story. It certainly awakened in many of us the research streak and the desire to embark on this interesting path ourselves.

Sincere thanks to Anita Molka for taking the time to take us through her experience and at the end delighted us with a traditional cake, which was excellent. We would also like to thank all visitors for their time and participation.
