On April 1, 2017, you are cordially invited to go on a pleasant hike along the forest paths, relax with beautiful views and treat yourself to delicacies from the local offer. He’s getting ready already 14. Hike along the circular, 15 km long Jablaniška path, on which friendly locals await you. The path leads past three churches, a traditional fruit drying room and past the Memoirs’ Homestead in Gradišče.
Hikers must register from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the fire station in Zgornja Jablanica, Šmartno pri Litija. For a symbolic registration fee, you drink morning coffee or tea, eat some ‘štrukeljc’ or other homemade cakes, take an apple in your backpack and set off. A number of pleasant experiences await you on the way – from tours of cultural heritage buildings (St. Ana’s church in Jablanica, prSTRNAR In Jablaniška Laza, see the traditional fruit drying plant, on Mamolje the church of St. John the Baptist, and of course the church of St. Mary Magdalene). A unique adventure awaits you, from the feast of the locals, to the observation of small animals, various forest tree species and the admiration of beautiful panoramic views on all parts of Slovenia. Especially in Bukovica, at the checkpoint in Prelesje and at the church of St. Magdalene In Gradišče pri Litija, the views of the Kamniška, Julian Alps, as well as the Dolenjska and Posavina hills, are unique.
During your journey you will be able to stop on Herbalist Pr`Janez Farm, try herbal teas and of course buy them. At the finish line in the village of Gradišče, a pleasant gathering awaits you with good home-made food, drinks and a lucky draw organized by the LAZ association. To take home, you will be able to buy several types of homemade bread from the bread oven, potica and other homemade delicacies. There will be a short cultural program at 1:00 p.m., and since the return to the valley will only take about 20 minutes, there is no reason not to stay at the finish line until the late afternoon.
Before you descend into the valley, stop in Home of Memories, where you can see the new 12th thematic exhibition Pogledi Slovenije. Here you can see the cultural and natural collection of monuments of Slovenia, old postcards and cards of Ljubljana, Valvasor’s reading from 1951 and many other interesting things. Then you can go to Skebet’s homestead, in the village of Zg. Jablanica old Majčevo granary, where crops are still stored today, a little lower, and a farmer’s farm building on the side of the road, which is a protected cultural heritage due to the peculiarities of its production.

You can get to Zgornja Jablanica from several directions:
From Dolenjska via Bogenšperk and in Šmartne near the church towards Gabrovka and before Cerovica, turn left towards the fire station in Zg. Jablanica – and above it you can see the church of St. Anne.
From the direction of Ljubljana, you pass through Litija and after two kilometers you will meet those who come along the Zasavska cesta from the direction of Trbovel, turn into the village of Breg at the greenhouse along the main road and continue along the Jablaniška valley in the direction of Gabrovka – after three You are at the starting point of the hike for kilometers.
You can also come by train, as a bus service will be organized in front of the railway station in Litija to the fire station in Jablanica at 07:55. The return trip from Gradišče pri Litija will be organized according to the agreement of hikers. The ticket price is EUR 1.00.

Farm Pr` Gustelnu
The farm has 4 ha of arable land and 6 ha of forest. They are engaged in goat breeding for the purpose of marketing (second year) and cattle breeding (only for domestic needs). A year and a half ago, an organic plantation of Siberian blueberry (1,200 seedlings) was arranged, but it does not yet produce a crop that could be marketed. In the fields, they grow everything for a ‘home pisker’, without artificial additives, of course… and old apple trees, if of course a good harvest, allow them to prepare homemade apple juice, cider and apple cider vinegar. If they also bear pears, they are used to prepare home-grown fruit.
In Prlesje Pr` Dragot
The route will lead you from the hamlet of Bukovica through the beech forest to Prelesje. Domačija Pr` Dragot is located on the outskirts of the forest, on the sunny side of the Jablaniški hills. It can happen that you will be accepted and kept company by little goats. Representatives of the LAZ association will welcome you at the homestead and serve you with dishes on a spoon. Friendly girls will also take care of quenching thirst.
Domačija Dolinšek, nicknamed Pr` Kavc
When you are offered the most beautiful views, you will arrive at the PR Kavc homestead. Right here is the control point of the hike along the Jablaniška path, and here you will be able to stamp your hiking cards.
The homestead is located on Dolge Brdo near Mamolje and lies between meadows and pastures, surrounded by forests and in a location with a beautiful view and well-kept surroundings. Lord Lojza is a hunter and he likes to observe forest animals, which are not few in the nearby forests. He already had a close encounter with a bear, but everything ended happily. Housewife Pavla will make sure that neither the hungry nor the thirsty leave the house.
Association of country wives and girls Polšnik
DPŽD Polšnik was officially established and registered in 2000 and has 62 active members. It operates mainly in the urban area of two municipalities, Litija and Šmartno pri Litija, and due to the variety and breadth of its work program, the association can be seen all over Slovenia. DPŽD Polšnik is a member of the Union of Farmers of Slovenia, so it also connects with related organizations within the region. Every year, the members present themselves at the Jablaniške pohod, namely with their sweet delicacies. It will be the same this year.
Farm Pr` Oblak
The hamlet of Zelenc lies in its location, which is exposed to the sun throughout the year. That’s why vines and fruit trees grow well here. Here is a real paradise for the bees. The Oblak farm is carefully arranged, so that hikers sometimes go crazy that ‘the spring heather is still combed’. Master Martin will serve you his wine drop. While drinking the wine, just look over the fence where the bourgeois goats will graze.
Herbal farm Pr` Janez
The farm is one of the smaller hill farms in the village of Gradišče pri Litija at an altitude of 455 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by forest on all sides, mostly spreading to steep terrain, on the sunny side, so it is suitable for growing and gathering herbs.
For lovers of nature and natural preparations, they grow and collect herbs in unspoiled nature on the farm. Years ago, with the desire to bring nature and its beneficial effects closer to users, the herb garden began to emerge on the farm, which expanded over the years. Now they grow and collect around 40 types of herbs, which they dry, cut by hand and pack. These herbs are used to prepare tea blends, as our grandmothers prepared. That’s what they called them: homemade tea, family tea, Krrt, men’s tea, children’s tea, soothing tea, cleansing tea, cold, herbal tea, stomach and women’s tea. They also prepare mixtures according to individual wishes. In the summer time, it is also possible to visit the herb garden with tea tasting.
Eco farm PR Kokol
The destination of the hike along the Jablaniška path is in the yard of the Pr` Kokol organic farm. Excursionists will be well received in their yard, as they are recognizable for their excellent products baked from the bread oven. Housewife Breda has a registered complementary activity of baking bread in the traditional way and osmice, a winery where they produce their own local wine. The organizers believe that you will be happy to stay at the farm and listen to the cultural program. Otherwise, you are also welcome during the year. After prior notice, you can arrange a feast. Breda’s bread products are made with heart.
Ecological homestead Vovk
At the organic homestead Vovk, they are mainly engaged in animal husbandry, and additionally with fruit growing and vegetable production. They also have their own herb garden, where around 25 herbs and spices grow. They sell more of their produce at home on the farm, where they also prepare summer camps with sleeping in the hayloft, take you around the organic farm and herb garden or give you a picnic area.
Children know it for its summer camps, which are organized on the farm, and cyclists on the cycling routes that pass here. The surroundings are surrounded by hills and hills and are therefore suitable for Nordic walking and hiking.
Home of memories in Gradišče pri Litija
Domačija Samec opens it’s doors every year with a new thematic exhibition right on the day when the traditional hike along the Jablaniška path takes place. Visitors can take a walk through time here, as the male couple organize thematic exhibitions of old objects and photographs. This year will be the 12th exhibition entitled Pogledi Slovenije. Here you can see the cultural and natural collection of monuments of Slovenia, old postcards and cards of Ljubljana, Valvasor’s reading from 1951 and many other interesting things. Before it takes you to the valley, you bet in the homestead of memories in Gradišče. On other days, it is possible to visit by prior arrangement.
