We are honored that the municipality of Šmartno pri Litija invited our women’s choir to participate in the central municipal celebration of the day of statehood and the 25th anniversary of Slovenia’s independence. The event took place on the church staircase on Staretov trg. With the new ring road, Šmarski trg can be closed to traffic without any problems, and this evening it was thoroughly filled by visitors to the event. And after an hour and a half, they praised the organizer of the municipality of Šmartno pri Litija for preparing a really nice event.
The performers – the Šmartzna Tabur Orchestra, the Valvasor Octet and the singers of our ŽPZ Laz filled the staircase and made a beautiful backdrop for the speakers, Mayor Rajko Meserek and Janez Janša, and young reciters. The patriotic words of the speakers and the Slovenian song of the performers were suitable for the holiday, and at the end, the local delicacies of the active farmers’ wives and girls Litija – Šmartno and good wine from the Štuc Viticulture Association, as well as a relaxed gathering.
