We were visited by Ana Ogorelec – vegetable growing specialist, 16. 11. 2017

On Thursday, November 16, 2017, the Society for Rural Development Laz organized a lecture ‘Car harvesting and storage of vegetables’. Ana Ogorelec, who is a specialist in vegetable growing and has been researching, advising and educating in the field of vegetable production for many years, visited us from the Agricultural and Forestry Institute.

Lecturer Ana Ogorelec enthusiastically shares knowledge.

GA. Ana begins the lecture with a quote ‘a salad that is not touched by a snail, nor is it good for humans’, and adds that we can grow medicines for all diseases in our garden. In the lecture, we touched on the correct conditions of storage, freezing and pickling of vegetables. We added the topic of pickling cabbage and turnips.

Visitors listen to the lecturer with interest.

We learned about ways to prevent premature ripening, aging and drying of crops. GA. In the end, Ana Ogorelec suggested to those present that the crops should be stored healthy, mature and that they should not be stored too soon, as this prevents the spread of various diseases.
