On March 7, 2016, the LAS Women’s Choir performed a singing day with Mrs. Ljoba Jenče. During the workshop, we delved into the correct re-creation of folk singing.
The Laz Women’s Choir has been working under the management of music pedagogue Ana Tori for the fourth year. We are sung in the choir by 22 female singers who meet once a week for rehearsals. We sing arrangements of songs for choral singing as well as folk and national songs. We are also very happy to approach the repertoire of evergreen and modern covers.

In the month of March, we hosted Mrs. Ljoba Jenče, who is one of the greatest connoisseurs of folk singing and literature. On the day-long singing day, we got acquainted with the basic rules of folk singing in Slovenia and upgraded our knowledge of recreating folk songs. The singing workshop with Ljoba Jenče was extremely interesting and educational. We will be able to use the knowledge we have acquired to our advantage in choral singing.

In 2016, the LAZ association included in its work program the revival of old custom, singing in the village, as our ancestors did. This is a big challenge for the singers of ŽPZ Laz, as we also want to encourage other singing lovers in the local environment who miss such customs. The first singing in the village will take place on the evening of Tuesday, April 26, in the middle of the village of Zgornja Jablanica near Kašča.
Singing lovers are cordially invited!
